      George Thomas Brewster - Important Bronze Plaque. George Thomas Brewster, American (1862–1943) is a noted artist and architectural sculptor. This large bronze plaque was removed from the now demolished Putnam Trust building on Mason Street in Greenwich, CT. It is a portrait of General Israel Putnam. George Thomas Brewster is particularly known for his portraits, monuments work and war memorials. According to wikipedia "Brewster also taught modeling at Cooper Union beginning 1900; Art Students League of New York beginning 1886; and Rhode Island School of Design, between 1893 and 1894." This large bronze plaque was removedfrom the old Putnam Trust building at the time of its demolition and has been in a private Greenwich, CT home for nearly 40 years. The bronze measures 48 inches in diameter. It is signed Geo Thomas BrewsterSC.
