    • AUGUSTE DE LA BRELY (France / French 1838 - 1906) - Girl in the autumn park
      Nov. 25, 2024

AUGUSTE DE LA BRELY (France / French 1838 - 1906) - Girl in the autumn park

      Est: -

technique: oil on canvas | 63 x 45 cm | signature: bottom left | framed Lot description The picture by Auguste de La Brela impresses with its romantic atmosphere and gentle melancholy. A scene from an autumn forest, where a young woman in a black dress stands in the middle of fallen leaves with a bouquet of flowers, evokes the mood of autumn not only in a natural, but also in an emotional sense. The color palette of the paintings emphasizes brown, gold and rust tones that underline the autumnal melancholy and contrast with the dark silhouette of the figure. Here, La Brely skillfully captured a moment of silence and introspection, when nature seems to be in depression, but at the same time hides a deep beauty. The painting oscillates between a realistic landscape painting and a romantic portrait, which is characteristic of La Brely's work at the end of the 19th century.
