        A FOLIO OF WATERCOLOURS measurements note largest 29.5 by 36 cm., 11 1/2 by 14 in. including a bridge across a stream, a thatched cottage, figures in a woodland, thatched dwellings, Castle Rising, a town street with a church spire beyond, ruins of Maxstoke Priory and a stone store in a walled garden eight, one inscribed verso and dated: 1794 three grey wash over pencil, three pen and brown ink with grey wash over pencil, one watercolour over pencil and one pen and grey ink with grey wash over pencil, six on laid paper Quantity: 8 PROVENANCE one drawing in the folio acquired from Fred Meatyard, 1953 and two others purchased from P. & D. Colnaghi & Co., London, 1955 NOTE The Reverend William Thomas Bree was a rector of Allesley, near Packington Park, the seat of Heneage Finch, 4th Lord Aylesford (see following lot)
