        Alice Brasse-Forstmann (1903 Libau/Lettland - 1990 Berlin). Zwei bärtige Männer (Biblische Szene). Wohl 1920 er Jahre. Watercolour and gouache. Signed lower right with the pseudonym 'Ali Fo' and with inscription. On textured paper. 76,5 x 53 cm (30,1 x 20,8 in), the full sheet. Verso: Kopfstudie. Pencil. [KR]Provenienz: Private collection North Germany. Alice Brasse-Forstmann studiert 1923/24 an der Kunstakademie in Königsberg und 1924-26 an der Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Berlin. Im Jahr 1968 erhält sie das Bundesverdienstkreuz und nimmt eine Stelle als Dozentin am Schwesternhaus des evangelischen Diakonie-Vereins an. Ihre Malerei und Grafik stehen in der Tradition von Käthe Kollwitz, Otto Nagel und Otto Mueller. Alice Brasse-Forstmann hat sich intensiv religiösen Themen gewidmet und u.a. auch Antependien und Wandteppiche für Kirchen geschaffen.In good condition, colours still fresh. Lower part of the image with a continuous soft crease mark, partly minimally rubbed. Margins with minor ripples due to the technique.
