MARIANNE BRANDT (Chemnitz, Germany, 1893 - Kirchberg, Saxony, 1983) for Alessi Shaker Model 90021. Stainless steel. In its original box. Measurements: 18 x 13,8 x 13,8 cm. Coffee maker designed by the famous Bauhaus artist Marianne Brandt. In 1923, when she was thirty years old, she enrolled at the Bauhaus in Weimar. She faced some problems that prevented her from entering the Metal workshop from the very first moment, but soon after, the qualities she had to represent everyday objects were demonstrated, so the following year she was allowed to be part of the Metal workshop, thus becoming the first woman to enter the Metal Workshop of the Bauhaus. Marianne Brandt opted for the triangle, cylinder and sphere, as seen in her well-known MT50-55a coffee and tea set of 1924, which was one of her first designs in the metal workshop and one of the last to be produced with luxurious materials such as silver, ebony and glass. Several of his works are in the MoMA in New York.
