Martyn Bouskila was born in 1954 and raised in London, England. He lived in Israel for three years following high school, returning to London to complete a B.F.A. in 1975. With a scholarship from Cranbrook Academy of Art, he moved to Detroit in 1979 and graduated with an M.F.A. in 1981.
