Friedlein.". Date: 19th century Description: This is an etching depicting a pastoral woodland with prominent, detailed tree structures, surrounded by light vegetation and lingering figures, suggestive of a tranquil scene.     Eugen Hummel (born 1812 Vienna) after Carl Maria Nicolaus Hummel (1821 Weimar - 1907 ibid.): Forest section with resting travellers, c. 1855, Etching Technique: Etching on Paper Inscription: lower left signed in the printing plate: "C. Hummel". At the lower part inscribed in the printing plate: "WALDPARTHIE Original-Radirung von E. Hummel.". Date: c. 1855 Description: This subtle etching embodies a forest idyll in which a staffage of figures stands in a light-flooded clearing, surrounded by stately trees and lush undergrowth. The high-contrast rendering of the vegetation testifies to the great depth of detail and skilful handling of the medium. Source: Michael Auer () Faust.
