Very lively view, one of a set of two (its counterpart depicting a large fair on a market-place), the castle in the centre bearing quite some resemblance to the city hall of Oudenaarde. Near it we see i.a. a performance on a stage, several market stalls, boats on a canal, children playing, people dancing and refreshing themselves at the tavern "In de Gulden Lelie", from which a large banner "Die Boere Cermis" hangs out. Very rare.
