His painting can be found in the collections of the Wallraf-Richartz Museum in Cologne, The Leipzig Museum and the National Gallery in Berlin. Boettcher, Christian Eduard 1818 Imgenbroich - 1889 Düsseldorf View of Burg Katz with the Loreley in the Distance. Signed and dated lower left: C.E. Boettcher. pxt. 1876. Oil on canvas. Relined. 74,5 x 124,5cm. Framed. Christian Eduard Boetticher studied at the Düsseldorf Academy of Arts under Theodor Hildebrandt and Wilhelm Schadow. In the 1860s and 1870s, he painted a number of genre scenes, primarily landscapes along the Rhine between Bingen and Cologne. Despite - or perhaps because of - their sentimentally romantic mood, his paintings were exceedingly popular. They were purchased for large sums by his contempories and are still very sought after today. Boetticher's works are displayed in the Rheinisch Landesmuseum Bonn, the Stadtmuseum Cologne and in the Kunstmuseum Düsseldorf. Doubliert. 74,5 x 124,5cm. Rahmen. Christian Eduard Boetticher studierte an der Düsseldorfer Kunstakademie bei Theodor Hildebrandt und Wilhelm Schadow. In den 1860er und 1870er Jahren entstanden Genregemälde und vor allem Landschaften am Rhein, zumeist zwischen Bingen und Köln lokalisierbar. Seine Arbeiten waren tortz - oder gerade wegen seiner "romantisch-sentimentalen" Auffassung ausserordentlich beliebt, wurden hoch bezahlt und sind auch heute noch sehr gesucht. Seine Werke hängen unter anderem im Rheinischen Landesmuseum Bonn, im Stadtmuseum Köln sowie im Kunstmuseum Düsseldorf.
