    Untitled Signed with initials and dated '87 lower right Mixed media on paper, 157.8 x 119.6 cm Provenance: - Galerie Van Gelder, Amsterdam (1988) - Private collection, the Netherlands Note: Ansuya Blom is described as a painter of an intimate, oppressive world in which the relation of the human being to its body is central. Brain, liver, heart and intestinal tracts, as well as beds, facades and windows form a mysterious system in which hesitant lines indicate connections. Her work focuses on the friction between the individual and the external environment and the misconceptions and confusion that arise as a result. Solo exhibitions of Blom's oeuvre were held in the Camden Arts Center in London; Douglas Hyde Gallery in Dublin and the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam (1990). Besides, the artist participated at the Venice Biennale in 1990. Her work is part of various private and public collections such as the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Museum Boijmans van Beuningen and Tate Modern London. She is an advisor at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam. Ansuya Blom won the Dr. AH. Heineken Prize for Art 2020 worth, a prestigious visual art prize in the Netherlands. The jury referred to the artist's oeuvre as "whispering work, which explores the limits of the inner world of experience".
