        Including (1) a rectangular medal by Édouard Pierre Blin (1877-1946) inscribed Quovis Cum Vulnere Victrix / Meminit Patria, with a ruined antique statue of a winged woman on the front and woman seated in contemplation with the parthenon in the background, (2) a plaque/paperweight depicting the General Motors Building, Broadway and 57th street, New York City by the Whitehead & Hoag Company of Newark, stamped on bottom edge, and (3) a rectangular plaque titled London with a young woman waving to the tower bridge, initialed W.H.D. Largest, 4 x 2 1/2 inches.         Commemorative Medals, Aviation, Argentina / France, Jean Mermoz (1901-1936), Bronze memorial Medal, by Edouard Pierre Blin (1877-1946), bust right, rev angel with arms spread, 59mm (CGMP 44, B). A handsome 'Art-Deco' medal, very fine. Argentine born Mermoz was a pioneer pilot in France and Argentina in the post Great War years, a general inspector at Air France and involved in establishing Aerolineas Argentinas. His Latécoère 300, "Croix du Sud" vanished on a flight on the 7th December, 1936.
