Multiple animation cel and background setup (most likely key master) for an animal welfare commercial, circa 1980. Watercolor and ink on acetate. 246x308 mm; 9¾x12¼ inches. An adorable depiction of Homeless Homer and his canine and feline friends from a commercial for an animal welfare organization. The commercial was produced at The Ink Tank, the New York City-based animation studio founded by celebrated illustrator and cartoonist R.O. Blechman. The elaborate image features thirteen animal characters on meticulously hand-inked and tinted cel cutouts over a watercolor background, and is a very faithful translation of Blechman's unmistakable style of art.
