Growing up in Missouri, artist Ted Blaylock devoted most of his free time to drawing and painting. He began concentrating on art full-time in 1965, and by 1969, he opened his own art studio and gallery in Collinsville, Illinois. Birds and trains, set against scenic landscapes, are the primary subjects of Ted Blaylock's paintings.

As an avid wildlife enthusiast, artist Ted Blaylock supported Ducks Unlimited, the National Wildlife Federation, and Pheasants Forever. In 1990 he created the art for the Arizona Duck Stamp, and just four years later was chosen to design the Arizona Lifetime Trout Stamp.
