He produced drawings for Fantasia (dancing Hippp), Bambi and many other Disney classics. Blair went on to work closely with Tex Avery, creating Red hot Riding Hood, widely considered the first animated series geared to adults. The drawing is in overall good condition. There are tears and holes along the left edge and some darkening of paper. The dimensions are 10 ½ in x 12 ½ in; 26.6 cm x 31.7 cm (length x width). Preston Blair (1908 – 1995) Preston Blair was a celebrated American animator. His most iconic work took place while at Walt Disney Productions and in MGM’s animation department. While at Disney, Blair worked on Mickey Mouse story lines and on, “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice,” and the, “Dance of Hours,” portions of Fantasia. He also worked on Pinocchio and Bambi characters. Even later on, he was also an animator on “The Flintstones,” at Hanna-Barbera. Furthermore, Blair is highly respected as an animation instructor through his texts for Walter Foster Publishing.
