The title and subject of this print relate to the satirical film The KKK Boutique Ain't Just Rednecks, made by Billops and her husband, James Hatch, in the same year. The film addresses the origins, stereotypes, violent histories, and agendas of racism - pressing viewers to confront their own potential for and participation in prejudice toward people who are different from themselves. Other impressions are in the collections of Emory University and the Library of Congress.

This expressive work is the first example of Camille Billops' tiles to come to auction. This imaginative meeting of Southern cultural figures is a scene that Billops also illustrated for the collaborative modern fairytale, The Stone House, A Blues Legend by James V. Hatch, Billops' partner, and Suzanne Noguere, published in 2000. Her prints and sculpture have been exhibited at the Cooper-Hewitt Museum of Design, The Chrysler Museum, and The New Museum; other works are in the permanent collections of the Studio Museum of Harlem, New York, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and the Museum of Drawers, Bern, Switzerland.

Camille Billops is an award winning visual artist, documentary film maker and art historian. Her etchings are in the Library of Congress, and were in the exhibition Creative Space: Fifty Years of Robert Blackburn''s Printmaking Workshop. Her films have been shown on Public Television and at the Museum of Modern Art; Finding Christa won the Grand Jury Award at Sundance. She and her husband James Hatch, Professor of English at CCNY, co-founded the Hatch-Billops Archives of Black American Cultural History, a collection of visual materials, oral histories, and thousands of books chronicling black artists in the visual and performing arts.
