Diederik Johannes Bianchina born 1932 in Jeppe Johannesburg.

Self-taught painter.

Dirk Bianchina was born and raised in Jeppe until the age of nine. Dirk's mother and twin brother were both known landscape artists from Europe. As a result, he started drawing and painting from a very young age.

Today Dirk paints only in oils and is recognised throughout the world for his breaking waves and sunlight filtering through the waves.

One of the interesting characteristics of his paintings is wherever you stand looking at the painting, the sunlight follows you.

At present he is a pig farmer in the Eastern Province and when he has time he paints his seascapes.

Solo exhibitions include Germany, Austria, England, South Africa.
