Signed, titled, dated and editioned 5/25 by the photographer in ink on the verso. - - Before becoming a photographer for a paper in his native Wolfsburg, Peter Bialobrzeski studied Politics and Sociology. He travelled extensively in Asia before he went back to the Folkwang School, Essen and London to study Photography. After having worked as a photojournalist for almost 15 years and being published world wide, in 2004 Peter started to focus more on personal projects. In 2009 he published "Paradise Now", a project about light pollution in relation to climate change and global warming. In his series Neon Tigers, Bialobrzeski takes his own, very individual view of Asia's fast-growing economic centres, above all Hong Kong, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Bangkok. presenting his cities as ultra-modern utopias (or dystopias) which recall the sprawling sets of modern sci-fi movies such as "Blade Runner." Bialobrzeski makes these futuristic works, which he describes as "quotations from reality," using conventional means - a large-format, analogue camera loaded with film.

He won several awards including the prestigious World Press Photo Award 2003 and 2010. Peter Bialobrzeski was a visiting professor for photojournalism at the University of Essen in 1998/99. Since 2002 Peter is a regular Professor for photography at the University of the Arts in Bremen, Germany.
