Mackenzie, on the Clyde, 1812, the first Steamer to run commercially in Europe, Built by John Wood & Co, Glasgow, Engines by John Robertson, Glasgow, running between Glasgow & Greenwich, 1812, wrecked off Craignish Point, 1820, 40 ft long, 10.5 ft beam, 5.5 deep, 25 tons, speed 6.7 per hour; signed lower left J. Bettridge & Co, Birmingham, painted circa 1850, in a replica burl maple frame, roped gilt liner, SS: 20 3/4" x 30 1/4", OS: 26" x 35 1/2", fine condition.
