Measurements: 19 x 27 cm; 32 x 40 cm (frame). Sculptor and painter, Francisco Otero Besteiro studied Fine Arts in Madrid at the end of the forties, and in 1960 he obtained a scholarship of the Foundation March to extend his formation in Rome. He then spent some time in Paris, before finally returning to Madrid for good. In 1979 he was awarded the Bouedelle prize, and was also awarded at the Biennial of Alexandria. He exhibited his work in several Spanish cities, and made several monuments. He is currently represented in the Carlos Maside Museum, the Caja de Ahorros Provincial de Orense and other collections, both public and private.

(Corgo, 1933-Madrid, 1994). "Retrato", en roble tallado, 47x42 cm. Firmado y fechado en el año 1966. Se formó en la Escuela de Bellas Artes de San Fernando de Madrid, y en el Museo de Arte Moderno celebró su su primera exposición individual. Compañero y amigo de Camilo José Cela y Francisco Umbral, Otero, sentía gran admiración por los artistas clásicos y así lo plasmó en sus esculturas abstractas y figurativas, dedicadas en su mayoría a la representación de animales, a través de las que plasma su particular bestiario.
