Renato Bertelli (1900-1974) PROFILO CONTINUO. Sádra černě malovaná, v. 29,5 cm. Zn. na podstavě rytým "Bertelli R. A XI" - 11. rok nové éry, počítané od Mussoliniho pochodu na Řím v roce 1922. V tomto slavném díle úspěšně spojil všechny ideje futurismu: energii, pohyb, simultaneitu a rychlost. Plastika představuje diktátorův profil v 360° vertikální rotaci. Kromě zmíněné ideologie se zde zároveň odráží také antické téma tzv. Janovy hlavy, přenesené do moderní strojové estetiky a dynamiky futurismu. Zatímco však bůh Janus měl dvě tváře, jimiž hleděl do minulosti a budoucnosti, Mussolini se dívá zároveň do všech stran. Diktátor uznal sochu za svůj oficiální portrét a dílo pak bylo reprodukováno v různých velikostech a materiálech, především v kovu (hliník), dřevě, ale také např. v mramoru. Stalo se součástí stranické centrály Casa del Fascio, ale dostalo se i do volného prodeje. S nápisem "ESPOSIZIONE UNIVERSALE ROMA 1942 - XX" se začalo vyrábět coby suvenýr Světové výstavy v Římě roku 1942, která se však z důvodu vstupu země do války neuskutečnila. Plastika je součástí sbírek Museo di arte moderna e contemporanea di Trento e Rovereto, které se futuristickému umění věnuje ve zvláštním oddělení, druhý exemplář původního terakotového provedení se nachází v Imperial War Museum v Londýně. Stav A. Itálie Italský futuristický umělec, názorově blízký ideologii fašismu. Proslavil se ikonickou Mussoliniho bustou "Profilo continuo / Dux" z roku 1933. Plastik zeigt das Profil des Diktators in 360° vertikaler Rotation. Neben der erwähnten Ideologie spiegelt sich hier auch das antike Thema des sog. Januskopfes wider, in moderne Maschinenästhetik und futuristische Dynamik transformiert. Gott Janus hatte zwei Gesichter, um in die Vergangenheit und Zukunft zu blicken, Mussolini schaut alle Seiten gleichzeitig an. Diktator erkannte das Werk als sein offizielles Porträt und es wurde dann in verschiedenen Größen und Materialien reproduziert, besonders in Metall (Aluminium), Holz, aber auch z. B. in Marmor. Es wurde ein Teil der Parteizentrale Casa del Fascio, aber kam auch zum Freiverkauf. Mit Aufschrift „ESPOSIZIONE UNIVERSALE ROMA 1942 - XX“ begann als Andenken an die Weltausstellung in Rom 1942 produziert zu werden, die jedoch aufgrund des Eintritts des Landes in den Krieg nicht stattfand. Plastik befindet sich in den Sammlungen des Museo di arte moderna e contemporanea di Trento e Rovereto, das sich der futuristischen Kunst in einer speziellen Abteilung widmet, das zweite Exemplar der ursprünglichen Terrakotta-Version befindet sich im Imperial War Museum in London. Condition: The sculpture is in good condition with only slight signs of wear. The patina is partially lightly worn, otherwise generally of very good impression. It measures 30 cm in height. Renato Bertelli (1900-1974) The Italian sculptor Renato Bertelli was born in Lastra a Signa near Florence in 1900. He studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence under Domenico Trentacoste. He gained first awareness by participating at the Esposition Primaverile in 1922, and about 10 years later he became well known with the bust representing the profile of Mussolini, which has been widely reproduced in different sizes and materials after its official recognition. A copy of this sculpture is nowadays to be found in the Museo di arte moderna e contemporanea di Trento e Rovereto, another one in the Imperial War Museum in London.
