MARTIN BENKA (1888-1971) RATÍŠKOVICE U ROHATCE 1913-14, Moravia Alois Kalvoda used to go with his pupils painting en plein air to various places across Bohemia and Moravia, where they would draw landscape studies. From just such an excursion comes the painting in question, Ratiškovice, which represents one of the few winter landscapes in Benka's works. Kalvoda's influence is still rather recognisable in the painting. Oil on paperboard, signed bottom right: M.Benka. There is a tag with a description of the location on the reverse side of the painting.
