Biography

I work in a variety of mediums, pursuing new ways to express my appreciation of nature's beauty. Realistic and abstract painting provide venues for exploration of color, texture and form. My exploration into iconography has deepened my spiritual journey to connect and express the divine that I believe is part of all creation.

My commercial endeavors have included several murals created within the health care system. Having worked in the health care field for 27 years as a Director of Therapeutic Recreation, I have a deep understanding of and appreciate the power of art to help heal and enhance ones well being.
Exposure to beauty and serene settings can help minimize anxiety, agitation, pain and depression. My mural art has been used to help enhance the quality of life for those suffering with dementia or other illnesses. Having worked with people diagnosed with dementia for many years, I have a heightened awareness of how behaviors manifest and what environmental cues and enhancements may help to reduce inappropriate behaviors while creating a calm and supportive environment. I am available for consultations and commisions.
