Anne-Catherine Becker-Echivard Art for Sale at Auction

b. 1971 -

Born in Paris in 1971, Anne-Catherine Becker-Echivard (ACBE) grew up in Berlin where she studied law. In 1996, she moved to Paris to dedicate herself entirely to photography, her preferred field. The originality of her work is primarily due to the use of real fish as staging elements. Fish, considered to be a symbol of humanity, become the subject of role-plays, fables, of moral tales in which human caricatures portray an ironic view of our consumer society. Her meticulous compositions not lacking in humour also require this contemporary artist to be an author, a stage director, an actress, a costume designer, a decorator and a set photography all at once. She was soon offered a number of exhibitions, including one at the Pinacothèque de Paris in 2007, alongside works by Roy Lichtenstein. In 2009, ACBE moved and established her photo studio in Berlin.
