    JEAN BAUZIL (Spain, 1766-1820) - Pair of Miniature Bust Portraits of a Military Officer and his Wife, Napoleonic Peninsular War era, oil on ivory, only his is signed and dated 1815, but she is also definitely by the same hand, painted at the same time. He is depicted with red hair and moustache, in dress uniform with decorations (Infantry, Campo Mayo, with a complete bijou of the Spanish Golden Fleece, limited to 50 Knights and the King), she in a green Neo-classical gown with lace trim and collar, flame red cape, her hair up in a jeweled comb. Housed in wood frames with embroidered silk mats, having domed glass lenses, OS: 7" x 6 1/2", SS: 2 7/8" x 2 1/4". Fine condition.
