    Personal collection from the estate of Hans Baur (1897-1993) Adolf Hitler's pilot during the Third Reich. The collection includes three silver schnapps cups, with silver marks. Two crystal vases, one marked silver at the rim. Alpaca frame with a b/w of Adolf Hitler and Hans Baur, autographed by Baur; a personal note to Johannes Hentschel on the reverse of Baur's business card, signed by Hans Baur; and a b/w photograph of Hitler's plane. A framed magazine print of Hitler in the cabin of his Junker's Ju 52. A collection of modern photographs of Hans Baur as a pilot in WWII, family and friends in post-war years, photos of his funeral, photos of his awards, passport, etc., and two photographs in Baur's living room showing the schnapps glasses and crystal vases in his china cabinet. Each frame is approx. 13 x 12 inches, the vases are approx 6.5 inches tall each, and the cups are 4 inches tall.

    HANS BAUR (1897 - 1993) German Luftwaffe pilot, tasked by the Luftwaffe to serve as Adolf Hitler's personal pilot. T.L.S. on his ‘Flight Captain' personal letterhead, 1p. oblong 8vo., Neuwiddersburg, Mar. 7, 1959 to a researcher, in German. Bauer discusses the German and English editions of his memoir ‘I Was Hitler's Pilot', and suggests that his correspondent read the unexpurgated German version. Very good. SOLD WITH: two German Bundespost stamps, one issued accidentally showing a Junkers bearing the same number (D-2201) as the plane in which Baur flew Hitler throughout Europe. Also with three copy photos and envelope. Fine.

He signs in the white margin at bottom in blue ink, adding his rank "Generalleutn. a D." Baur signs again on the verso in blue ink, adding a dedication in German and the title "Chefpilot des Fuhrers". The verso also bears Baur's backstamp with the date "19. Mai 1981", as well as the backstamp of historian Jakob Tiefenthaler. Shows a chip at the bottom left corner, else very good.

Postwar, Baur pens an A.L.S. in german on the face, and signs his name again and adds his rank on verso; WITH an S.P. 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", a flyer for the German edition of his postwar memoirs, signed on the face adding rank. One mailing fold.

    HANS BAUR FUNERAL SASHES Good lot of fourteen rayon or fiber funerals sashes, thirteen partial and one complete, all worn by various mourners during the 1993 funeral of HANS BAUR(1897-1993)World War I flying ace, SS officer and personal pilot to German dictator Adolf Hitler. Six of the sashes bear the titles of various organizations with connections to Baur, including: HIAG, or "Hilfsgemeinschaft auf Gegenseitigkeit der Angehorigen der ehemaligen Waffen-SS"("Mutual Aid Association of Former Waffen-SS Members'); the "Orden der Bayer[ische] Tapferkeitsmedaille K.d.o.R." ("Order of the Bavarian Medal for Bravery"), two examples; "Ordensgemeinschaft der Ritterkreuztrager" ("Order of Knight's Cross Knights"); the "Freiheitliche Deutsche Arbeiterpartei" ("Free German Worker's Party", a neo-Nazi political party outlawed by the German Constitutional Court in 1995; and "Kameradschaft IV Salzburg". The remainder feature more general expressions of mourning ("Dem treuen Kameraden", "Zum Abschied", "Letzter Gruss", etc.), with one bearing the name and rank of the deceased. The majority have been trimmed, else very good.
