Isolde Baumgart was born in Munich in 1935. She studied at the Art Academy in Kassel under Hans Leistikow (1892-1962), later she continued her studies in Paris. During her education, she designed her first movie posters. Further remittance works were to design special stamps for the German Post or posters for the Kiel Week and the Munich Oktoberfest. In the 1970s she worked as a lecturer in graphic design in the United States.

      Germany, 1969 Silver print, stencil print on paper Isolde Baumgart (b. 1935) - German printmaker Signed center right "Isolde Baumgart" Dimensions: 59 x 41,5 cm Very good condition This highly appealing poster was designed by the German printmaker Isolde Baumgart in 1969 on the occasion of the Kiel Week. The annual sailing regatta is held annually since the 19υth Century in Schleswig-Holstein. It has become one of the biggest sailing events in the world. Since 1948, advertising posters were specially designed for this major event. They were selected by a jury in an annual highly regarded competition. Many motifs are awarded with national and international prizes. This example shows the style of the 1960s: Dynamically flowing lines and a high degree of abstraction make this blue and silver composed poster a very appealing one. The slightly wavy poster is in very good condition with only minor creases on the right edge. Middle right it is signed with "Isolde Baumgart ". The dimensions are 59 x 41,5 cm.
