It displays a young female nude sleeping in a suggested boudoir scene. The woman’s elegant pose is carried out with great care. Her red lips underline the sensual atmosphere of this scene. The painting is signed ‘Bartsch’ on the lower left and is in good condition with some signs of age and wear. The piece is varnished and the color has been rubbed along the edges due to framing. The frame shows some signs of wear. The dimensions of the unframed piece are 50 x 70.5 cm, the frame measures 67 x 90 cm.
