Very good condition Provenance: Yossi Mimlo Gallery, Inc., New York Depicted a black Trans Am outside of a garage in West Los Angeles, this image by Adam Bartos exudes the quiet calm of an ordinary scene. Often depicted iconic cities - New York City, Los Angeles, Paris - Bartos photographs his subjects from a disinterested distance that allows the viewer to see the city as a truth rather than an expectation. Executed in 1979, this digital c-print is signed, titled, dated and numbered. The image measures 24 ½ x 35 ½ inches. In excellent, original condition. Not examined out of frame. Adam Bartos (American, b. 1953) Born in New York, photographer Adam Bartos is known for images with intense, saturated colors depicting ordinary scenes that exude a quiet calm and often a tinge of melancholy. Though he is drawn to places with symbolic significance that almost have come to embody their own clichés-New York City, Los Angeles, Paris-Bartos photographs his subjects from a consistent, disinterested distance that reveals truths beyond the trope. The resulting photographs speak to the movement of time and things forgotten. His work has been exhibited internationally, including solo exhibitions at Galerie Thierry Marlat, Paris and Rose Gallery, Santa Monica; and group exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art, New York and the New York Photo Festival, Brooklyn. The artist currently lives and works in New York.

We have done our best to describe the lots as accurately as possible in terms of the printing process, and have relied on the provenance provided to us by the Consignor and the Gallery label affixed to the work. We now believe that this lot may in fact be C-Prints. Bidders who were not able to examine these particular works in person, should use caution when bidding.
