      Coloured chalks on buff paper Signed lower left Contemporary pen an ink label on reverse inscribed "German Cat/Plane brought down/crew killed/-only cat alive" 41.5 x 33 cm. (16 1/4 x 13 in) The National Maritime Museum, London, holds a collection of similar animal portraits by the little known artist Georgina Shaw Baker. Other examples by Baker include " Oscar, Cat from H.M.S. Bismark" , " Judy Pointer, Mascot, HMS grasshopper, prisoner of war with the RAF in Japan" , and " Cat Mascot 'Jimmy', H.M.S. Renown", amongst others .
