Auf Karton aufgezogen und mit Passepartout unter Glas in schwarz lackierter breiter Rahmenleiste. Tokio, Kono Naotoyo Bairei, 1884-1885. -- Die "Blaugeschwänzte Vögel unter den Mistelblüten (Erybotria japonica)" und "Wilde Rose (Rosa multiflora) mit Wasserralle" aus "Bunrei Kacho Gafu", das 1885 von Kono Bairei veröffentlicht wurde. Aus dem umfangreichen Werk des "Bairei hyakuchô gafu - Kacho gafu", dem "Album der Hundert Vögel" gab Kôno Bairei (1844-1895), der auf diesem Gebiet führende Meisters der Ukiyo-e Schule in der Meiji Periode, im Jahre 1881 ein großformatiges Album heraus. Kôno Bairei stammte aus Kyoto, der Kaiserstadt des alten Japan, wo er die Kunst der klassischen japanischen Malerei erlernte, sich dann aber den Künstlern des Ukiyo-e zuwandte und die "Kyoto Prefectual School of Painting" gründete. Verlegt wurde sein Hauptwerk, das Album mit Vögeln und Blumen (kacho gafu) in mehreren Ausgaben zwischen 1881 und 1899 bei Okura Magobei; vier verschiedene Holzschneider sind bekannt. – Sehr sauber und in sehr frischer Farbigkeit.

          KONO BAIREI: A GROUP OF SIX WOODBLOCK PRINT ALBUMS By Kano Bairei (1844-1895) Japan, 19th century Woodblock print album. Ink and color on paper. Each ehon (picture book) sewn together and containing various illustrations. The first five albums comprise Bairei’s three volume set titled Bairei hyakucho gafu (Bairei's Drawing-book of One Hundred Birds). This set, dated 1881, consists of: two copies of Vol. 1, Vol 2, Vol. 2 (pt. 2), and Vol. 3. The album illustrates various types of birds in their natural habitat. Dimensions ca. 24.4 x 17.4 (each) The sixth album, titled Ehon inaka no tsuki (Picture book, Moon in the Countryside), dated 1889, illustrates a fine selection of birds, fish, and animals. With an English index, this book was clearly marketed to attract foreigners as well as Japanese collectors. Dimensions: 24.2 x 16.5 cm Condition: Good condition with minor wear and bright colors. Some fading, minor stains, wear to the covers, loose threads with some associated loose pages. Provenance: Estate of Wolfgang Zacke (1942-2022), co-founder of Galerie Zacke, thence by descent. Farbige OBroschur mit Farbfadenheftung (teils lose) und montierten roten Titelschildern. Tokyo, Okura Magobei, Meiji 14 bzw. Meiji 17 (1881 bzw. 1884). -- Vollständiges Exemplar mit beiden Dreier-Serien des "Bairei hyakuchô gafu - Kacho gafu", dem Album der Hundert Vögel von dem japanischen Künstler Kôno Bairei (1844-1895), des auf diesem Gebiet führenden Meisters der Ukiyo-e Schule in der Meiji-Periode, das 1881 und 1884 erschien. Bairei Kono (1844 – 1895) Bairei Kono was a Japanese painter, wood block print master, and illustrator during the Meiji era. Bairei's works are characterized by their realistic and detailed depictions of birds, flowers, and other natural subjects. His works are known for their delicate and refined style, which often incorporates elements of traditional Japanese painting techniques. In 1880, he founded a school for the art of color woodblock printing, from which many well-known artists emerged.

          Bairei, Kôno. Diptychon mit zwei Kranichpärchen. 2 Ukiyo-e Holzschnitte in Zweifarbdruck aus den Hyakkacho gafu. Format dai-ôban tate-e (ca. 35,5 x 22,5 cm). Unter Passepartout. Edo (Tokio) um 1870. -- Die eleganten, langhalsigen Vögel stehen auf ihren dünnen Beinen in verschiedenen Posen im Wakamatsu-Bambus am See. Nach Vorwürfen des Vogelmalers Kôno Bairei (1844-1895) aus dem "Kacho gafu", dem Album von Vögeln und Blumen. Lediglich die Beine, Schnäbel und Augen sind mit einer zweiten Holzdruckplatte zart rosé-gelb gedruckt. – Nur minimal gebräunt, kaum fleckig.
