Her naked, somewhat twisted body with a face turned away from the viewer - an arc dominates the draped horizons of the work. Against the background of rocaille lines, pastel pink tones, the figure, illuminated with warm light, seems alluring and attractive. Bodily truthfulness and seductiveness is created by highlights of the smooth skin of the knees. The playfulness of Rococo in color and in the form of a sofa, intertwined with the subtle color flair of Impressionism, connects eras. The only bright spot of the pillow - balances the impression, shifts the accents from nature and creates the charm of that unique atmosphere that can only be found in Paris. Oil on panel. Schüler der Brüsseler und Pariser Akademie sowie von J. Stallaert. Werke seiner Hand wurden 1903/04 im Brüsseler Salon ausgestellt.DAS TOR DER LIEBE Öl auf Leinwand sowie Öl auf Holz. Höhe inkl. Rahmen: 112,5 cm. Breite inkl. Rahmen (geschlossen): 140 cm. Rechts oben am inneren Bild signiert. Das Kunstwerk besteht aus fünf Gemälden, die zu einem aufklappbaren Triptychon angeordnet sind. Gefasst sind sie von einem kunstvoll gearbeiteten Rahmen, der im oberen Bereich mit aufgelegten Blumenfestons, im unteren Bereich mit einem Wellenband verziert ist. Die zwei äußeren Gemälde zeigen je einen jungen Mann und eine junge Dame, die sich dem Betrachter zuwenden. Eine stilllebenhaft angeordnete Obstschale verbindet die zwei Portaits wie auch der parkähnliche Hintergrund, der sich über beide Werke zieht. Öffnet man das Triptychon so werden die Innenseiten der Flügel von je zwei Aktdarstellungen der außen Dargestellten geschmückt. Sie blicken jedoch keusch zu Boden. Das mittlere Gemälde zeigt das Paar innig umschlungen in einer weiten Naturdarstellung. Emile Baes widmete sich vor allem Portraits und Aktdarstellungen. Anfangs noch dem akademischen Stil verhaftet, ließ er sich immer mehr vom Impressionismus beeinflussen, dessen pastoser Farbauftrag und schneller Pinselduktus auch in dem vorliegenden Tiptychon zu erkennen ist. Abschließbar, Schlüssel nicht vorhanden, Triptychon ohne Schlüssel zu öffnen. (1370482) (19)
