Born in Rouen (France), Marie-Christine Autin is a painter, a writer and an Art Historian. She graduated in Fine Arts from Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris and has been awarded the Price of Rome in painting in 1968.

Since 1969 she has been living in Geneva away from Art schools and other community centers from which she intends to stay out of their influence. She owns a very personal figurative and perhaps surrealistic style. This kind of retreat is certainly profitable to her art and passion.

Her sensitivity and her highly reliable instinct with very personal and original way of looking at things, objects, flowers, persons or colors entertain her wish to render the intrinsic but hidden beauty of everyday banalities.

From her oil paintings, which disclose a high technical mastership, comes out a kind of strangeness. Her still-life, both sensual and icy, show us a moment of perfection, where the threat of disorder and maladjustment are nevertheless present.
