HONOURS, ACHIEVEMENTS and EVENTS:

1979 Attended the opening of his first solo exhibition, held at the Snow Goose
in Ottawa.

1980 Asked by the Department of Public Works to submit sketches for low-relief
carvings for the exterior of the Centre Block of the Parliament Buildings
in Ottawa.

1989 In May, Davie Atchealak's whalebone figure 'Drum Dancer' sold at Waddington's
Inuit Art Auction in Toronto for $41,000.00, which establishes a record
auction price for an Inuit carving.
