HONOURS, ACHIEVEMENTS and EVENTS:
1959 Kiawak attended the opening of the exhibit 'Eskimo Carvers at Stratford',
which was held during the 1959 Stratford Festival, Stratford, Ontario.
1971 Travelled to Vancouver to attend the opening of the Sculpture/Inuit
exhibition.
1971 Kiawak's sculpture "Howling spirit (Tornrak) and its young" (1962) is featured
on the cover of the SCULPTURE/INUIT catalogue.
1980 A sculpture by Kiawak entitled 'Sedna' was reproduced on a seventeen
cent stamp issued September 25, 1980.
1987 One of Ashoona's carvings was presented to U.S. president Ronald Reagan
at the Summit meeting June 21,1988 in Toronto.
1989 Attended the opening of the 'Masters of the Arctic' exhibition in New York.
