Anthony Amos Sold at Auction Prices

b. 1950 - d. 2010

Artist Anthony Amos was born in Bristol, England, in 1950 and is known for his maritime-inspired artworks which depict different aspects of life at sea. Before becoming serious about being a painter, Anthony Amos built a career working in the Merchant Navy. His time working on the ocean provided him with the inspiration behind many of his pieces, and he captured the likes of ocean liners, shipyards and maritime workers in his artwork.

Later in his career, artist Anthony Amos broadened the themes within his artwork. Moving away from sea-inspired pieces, he began to paint landscapes and became more experimental in the way he created his art, using rags and his fingers to paint. Following his death in 2010, Anthony Amos maritime paintings for sale still appear at auction from time to time and remain popular with collectors. Browse classic maritime paintings for sale and at auction and introduce the scent of the sea into your space.
