        Est: $2,500 - $3,500

Type A (American; founded 1998) Shot (slug 5) Chromogenic print 2012. Provenance: the artist. Type A is the New York-based collaboration of Adam Ames (American, b. 1969) and Andrew Bordwin (American, b. 1964) formed in 1998. Their videos, video installations, photography, sculptures and drawings deal with issues of masculinity, competition and collaboration in contemporary society. Their newest body of work focuses on the connotations of violence, fear, and paranoia in America's post-9/11 culture. Shot (slug 5) is an extremely high-resolution print of a spent shotgun casing, which appears nearly abstract and ironically beautiful. Type A has exhibited extensively around the world at venues such as the Indianapolis Museum of Art, Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, DeCordova Sculpture Park & Museum, Museum of Contemporary Art Denver, and the Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery. Their work is the subject of the monograph Type A (2010), edited by Lisa D. Freiman and published by the Indianapolis Museum or Art. 20" x 26 1/2"
