Dove Allouche Art for Sale and Sold Prices

b. 1972 -

Dove Allouche (b. 1972) is a french artist and photographer who lives and works in Paris. His artwork spans many mediums, incorporating both old photography methods and modern technologies and processes, as well as using classic drawing methods. Much of his work is large in size but minimalist in composure. His artwork has been shown in various exhibitions all over the world since the mid-1990s.

Allouche is a champion of mixing old and new methods, as evidenced in his piece La dernière couleur (The Last Color). Using a Lumière autochrome plate, a very old color photography process dating back to 1954, Allouche used chemicals to synthesize small dots of the three primary colors (red, yellow, and blue) to cover the plate’s entire surface. The result is a minimalist, almost monochromatic (until you get up close to it) piece that combines the Lumière process of color photography from over 60 years ago and modern innovation.
