She was a pupil of John Niemeyer, J. Alden Weir, Henry B. Snell and Ben Farster. She painted for the most part in oil, but her works in water colors also won a high reputation for her. Many of he paintings appeared in exhibitions in this country and Paris. Miss Allis was a familiar figure in art circles. She often has exhibited at the American Fine Arts Society.
