He sparked controversy in the 1970s by converting to Islam and refusing a draft order during the Vietnam War due to religious reasons. After retiring from boxing in 1981, Ali was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease and devoted the remainder of his life to philanthropy. Following his death in 2016, Muhammad Ali autographs increased in value and are sought after by fans.
