    Mal (Malcolm) Alexander "Abandoned House Taos" Oil on Board. Malcolm Alexander was born in Detroit Michigan , 1925.He received his academic training in Ashville, North Carolina; Philips Exeter Academy, New Hampshire; and the university of Texas. During World War II, he served as a sergeant in the Marine Corps. Formal art training was acquired at the Art Center School. Los Angeles, and the School of Fine Arts, University of California, los Angeles. Alexander has always derived his greatest stimulus from travel. Since 1959, Taos, New Mexico, has been home and the base from which he and his family depart on their many trips. He spent the summers of 1962 and 1963 in Mexico, sketching and painting . At present he is painting in Europe, making his headquarters in Spain.
