Im rechten Rand unter der Mitte monogrammiert und datiert, verso mit lateinischem Namenszug. 1952. Blattmaße: 26,5 x 19,5 cm. N. P. Akimov (1901-1968) begann seine künstlerische Ausbildung in Akademie-Kursen und im Atelier bedeutender Künstler, die er 1922 an den VhuTeMas fortsetzte. Er arbeitete für Proletkul't, intensiv und langjährig für das Theater (für das N. Evreinov ihn gewonnen hatte) sowie als Illustrator. Trotz "anti-kosmopolitischer" Anfeindungen beeinflusste sein Schaffen in nicht geringem Maße die sowjetische Kunst. - Die für den Künstler eher ungewöhnliche Ausführung des vorliegenden Porträts ist offenbar geprägt von einer Intimität des Sujets, die persönliche Nähe zum dargestellten Kind vermuten lässt. - Am oberen und unteren Rand unter Passepartout montiert, das Blatt gleichmäßig gebräunt, kleiner Braunfleck in der unteren rechten Ecke, stärker gebräunt nah der Blattkanten, sowie lichtrandig, verso mit Rückständen einer alten Montierung.

Signed, lower right. Matted. Nikolai Pavlovich Akimov is a Russian Soviet theater director, set designer, teacher, artist, publicist. Peoples Artist of the USSR. As a set designer, he collaborated with the Crooked Mirror theater and the Carousel cabaret; in 1924 to 1925 he worked on a permanent basis at the Bolshoi Drama Theater, now named after G. A.
