Collas Brevete" (in Versalienen). Vollplastische, fein ausgeführte Darstellung der Jagdgöttin als anmutiger Halbakt mit geschultertem Bogen und Pfeilköcher, an ihrer rechten Hand den angeleinten Hund führend. Aizelin studierte bei Augustin-Alexandre Dumont und beschickte 1852-1897 regelmäßig den Pariser Salon, auf dem er 1885 auch das originale Modell für die "Nymphe de Diane" zeigte (Nr. 3276), 1867 wurde Aizelin Ritter der Ehrenlegion, 1889 gewann er eine Goldmedaille auf der Weltausstellung. A fine French, 19th century bronze of JUDITHæby Eugene-Antoine Aizelin, (French, 1821-1902). Standing over the beheaded Holofernes, resting one hand on her sword with exposed breast. Judith, aæGod-fearing woman, she is the daughter of Merari, a Simeonite, and widow of a certain Manasseh or Manasses, a wealthy farmer. Struck by her beauty, the Assyrian general invited her to a lavish banquet in his tent. After eating and drinking, Holofernes, now drunk, fell asleep on his bed, allowing Judith to seize her chance to draw her scimitar and strike the deadly blow. Standing approx 25" tall. Good condition as shown, see photos.

Eugène-Antoine Aizelin (París, 1821-1902) Mignon. Escultura en bronce. Firmada Eugène-Antoine Aizelin y titulada. Firmada "F. Barbedienne Fondeur" y sello de "Reduction Mècanique A. Collas". Eugène Aizelin es hijo de Claude-Jacques Aizelin, dibujante. Ingresó en la Escuela de Bellas Artes en 1844 donde fue alumno de los escultores Jules Ramey y Auguste Dumont. Participó en los Salones de 1852 a 1897 y en las Exposiciones Universales de 1878, 1889 y 1900 donde obtuvo varios premios. Al mismo tiempo, recibió encargos para monumentos parisinos: el Théâtre du Châtelet, la Opéra Garnier, el Hôtel de ville de Paris, el Palais du Louvre y las iglesias de la Trinidad y Saint-Roch. Sus obras son realizadas en bronce por el fundador Barbedienne en varios tamaños. 53 x 23 x 31 cm.
