      OUTSTANDING AND RARE MONHEGAN HOTEL GUEST BOOK WITH ORIGINAL ART.

      This guest book from a Monhegan Island hotel dated 1903 has several hand painted oil and watercolor miniature paintings. It documents the artist colony that visited and stayed at this hotel between 1908 -1950. The register has area for name, address, date and remarks. Artists with drawings include: Charles H. Ebert 1915, Mary Roberts Ebert 1915, Della Whitney 1916, Polly Steele 1925, Frederic Dorr Steele 1927, Ella Gilman Russell 1910, Lillian V. Whiting 1910, Woodhull Adams 1912, Eloise Wood 1916, Maude Briggs Knowlton 1921, Sears Gallagher 1922, Amanda Reed ? 1916. Also included are a couple of photographs of the island. There are many names, which are no doubt artists. This guest book chronicles the artist colony and the time period in which artists from all over the country visited. SIZE: 7-3/4" x 11-1/2". CONDITION: Binding is damaged, pages are loose. Generally in good condition. 9-93447.
