SECRETARY DESK - Circa 1795-1810 Sheraton period two-part mahogany New England secretary desk. Chalk marked on back "W.H. Devins, West Acton". Blocked crest with beeswing veneered fronts. Supporting center brass eagle and ball finial flanked by two ball and spire corner finials. Two-door bookcase top with each door having arch top panes decorated with applied acorns over fine mullions over banded and beeswing inlaid panels. Flip over writing surface over three-drawer base set on ring turned legs. Fine string inlaid recess panel sides. 77" H x 42 1/2" W x 21" D. Old refinish, missing 3" section of molding return on right side.
