            Arts Students League Oil on canvas Showing painters at the Art Students League of New York, signed lower right and dated 1951 h. 24 w. 20 in. overall: 3-3/4 x 26-3/4 in. (frame) Abrams was one of the leading portrait artists of his era known for his style of traditional realism. His works included the official White House portraits of former presidents Jimmy Carter and George H. W. Bush. During his prolific career, he painted more than 400 portraits. The subject addressed in the picture offered is not surprising since the artist attended the Art Students League from 1948-1953.
