    DESCRIPTION: Two Li'l Abner original comic strips in pen and ink by Andy Capp. The strip depicting Li'l Abner is dated, "7-19" and the strip depicting Bassett the Parrot is dated, "10-25." Each are signed. Circa 1950's (Li'l Abner's son Honest Abe was introduced in 1953). Al Capp was an American cartoonist and humorist best known for the satirical comic strip Li'l Abner. He was born in Connecticut and lost his leg in a trolley accident at the age of nine. It was this accident that shaped his later cynical comic strips. MEASUREMENTS: Each strip is 7-3/4" x 29". CONDITION: Stained and with dented corners and sides.

    Walter Abe Custom Winchester Super Grade Model 70 Bolt Action Rifle Manufactured in 1949 this rifle features a filler block in the rear dovetail sight seat and a Leupold 2 X 7 VARI - X II scope on Buehler mounts and rings on the transition model receiver. The caliber marking "257 IMP" is located on the left side of the barrel at the breach. The top of the barrel is marked "WALTER ABE-RIFLEMAKER-L.A. CALIF." The Winchester "WP" proof is on the front of the left side of the receiver with "WINCHESTER/ TRADEMARK" centered on the same side. The bolt is polished with the remaining metal surfaces blued. This rifle is equipped with a checkered bolt knob, hinged floor plate marked "-SUPER GRADE-" and serrated trigger. The stock is a one piece walnut with a checkered pistol grip and forearm, rosewood grip cap and forearm tip, raised cheekpiece, sling swivel studs and a red rubber Old English recoil pad.
