Hisyamuddin Abdullah received his bachelor's degree in Fine Art from UiTM Shah Alam in 2012. In 2013, he had two art residencies, one in Bali, Indonesia, and the other in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. His awards include Young Guns Awards Malaysia 2016, and 3rd Winner in Drawing at the Tanjong Heritage National Level Art Competition. In 2014, Hisyamuddin had a solo exhibition with Taksu in Kuala Lumpur titled "SArKAs" followed by his second solo exhibition in Taksu Kuala Lumpur titled Kota(k) Magis in July 2021. He has participated in numerous group shows namely #Skull (2019), Axis By Praxis: Identity In Transition (2018), Human Being (2019), XIX Nineteen (2019) etc at various local galleries. Hisyamuddin was the first artist to be part of Sareng Gallery's biennial International Art Residency programme. The residency was held at Studio Pompstraat, in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

"This artwork was created specifically for the victims of the 2013 Haiyan Typhoon disaster. The concept of this artwork has reminded me of childhood memories with a dog, which occurred at the time. It was where I witnessed some other kids beating a dog that was chained or tied in an area that looked like an orchard. They intended to take the crops there, and I was unable to stop them. The dog's voice seemed to be pleading with me for rescue, and I can still vividly hear it today. In conjunction with being donated as a monument to the victims of Haiyan, a part of the profits from the sale of this artwork were given to street animals.", as quoted from the artist. The use of chiaroscuro and delicate tones enhances the overall composition. His realistic rendering of details and expression draws in the viewer.     Bergayut follows the favourite artist’s theme of a figure suspended in space as if falling but gloating with a sense of freedom. His has a figure, obviously male and back turned and dipping with both hands lightly tied up and with slings and arrows all around. He is shown naked from the waist up before the right edge lops off the view. Obviously, the archetyphal “Victim” in society tough struggles.Hisyamuddin Abdullah was, together with Najib Ahmad Bamadhaj, chosen for a Bali residency sponsored by G13 Gallery, and on their return, staged a two-month show titled NAH! Bali on Dec 2-22 2013. His other residency was with the Morne Art Gallery, Kuala Lumpur, the same year. He had a solo at Taksu Gallery, Kuala Lmpur, called SArKAs. His latest trimph was his winning the 2016 Young Guns Award. He first showed promise with his triple wins of 1st Prize (Mixed Media), 1st Prize (Oil/Acrylic) and Consolation Prize (Charcoal/Pencil/Ink) in the Tanjong Heritage art competition in 2011. That year, he also won the Incentives Award in the Shah Alam Art Gallery Open Show and a Consolation Prize in the Pesta Open. His higher profile was also boosted by his participating in prestigious international events such as the Art Stage Singapore (2015, 2016), Art Expo Malaysia (2014, 2016) and Art Kaoshiung (2015, 2016). He graduated with a BFA (Hons) at the Universiti Mara ITM, Shah Alam in 2012 after a diploma at its Machang, Kelantan, campus in 2010.
