Maling Pottery

A ceramic company with roots dating back to the history of the Huguenots, Maling pottery is one of the most renowned pottery producers of northeastern England. Iconic for more than 200 years, Maling pottery is an ideal complement to any refined ceramic collection.

Established in 1762 in the town of North Hylton, England, Maling pottery was managed by the French Malin family. While their early decades of production are not well documented, Maling enjoyed continued expansion and success. In the late 19th century, Maling developed upscale art pottery, which became incredibly popular and carried the pottery's celebrity through the first half of the 20th century.

By the time of the company’s closure, Maling had produced one of the most diverse ranges of ceramic designs from everyday pieces to high-end art pottery, a testament to their design innovation and demand from the consumer market.
