Item Overview

Description

Gerard ‘t Hart 1933- Gerard 't Hart studied at the Hague Free Academy of Art from 1955 to 1960. Gerard 't Hart makes various types of works; from sculptures and chalk drawings to wall reliefs. Inspiration for this comes from the many journeys he has made, which he was drawn to by his work on the ships of the Holland America Line. His art honors Buddhist, Hindu and ancient American cultures by depicting ancient myths, customs and rituals. The most important element in his work is always color; with it, 't Hart establishes an atmosphere of vitality. In addition to exhibitions in Switzerland and France, 't Hart's work has been exhibited several times in Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany. Handsigned and numbered. Comes from the collection of the municipality of The Hague, The Netherlands.
